Some new discoveries....

I am constantly digging in dark places...looking for found objects and old surfaces on which to create my artwork. I routinely come across some pretty strange things-sometimes unearth some pretty rare paper items....These original Vargas calendars were found in the basement of an old house in upstate NY(they were tucked away in a folder at the bottom of a box of paints....Pretty sweet..they are original 12 page calendars with a Vargas girl for every month (they are from 1942-1948 ) and the first photo is of a Pin-up mailer. I guess these were made to send out to our soldiers fighting overseas...I've never seen one of these before...and I may steam it open to check out the little pinup cards inside...cool stuff. I'm gonna try to post often (whenever I can) with updates on shows and fun stuff. Til then -Have a Great Holiday!
-Best -Jason

That's really fun to see this point when you discovered them after seeing them exhibited and completed with drawings. These are amazing. July is my favorite month. I like the arrows. Cheers!

Jason,
I'm an upstate New Yorker myself, now via Scottsdale, AZ. I used to run across the type of canvases that you work on all the time. Try the antique shops around Canandaigua, Penn Yan and Naples. I will keep my eyes open here. Happy hunting, I know that’s half the fun.
